Madeline "Dolly" (Mosca) Footit, 91, of Middletown, beloved wife of the late James H. Footit III, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2023 at her home after a long battle with kidney disease. She was born in Portland the daughter of Salvatore Mosca Sr and Nellie (Paresi) Mosca. Prior to her retirement she had been employed at Aetna, Wilcox Lace and was the Executive Secretary for MARC.

She is survived by her children, Kathleen Kowalsky of Middletown, Christine Mousa of Florida, James and his wife Teresa Footit of Arizona, and Jeffrey Footit of Middletown. Her Grandchildren, Kathryn Kowalsky and her husband Daniel Fitzpatrick, Austin Mousa, Alexandra Mousa, Brisa Footit, James Footit Jr and Anthony Footit. She was predeceased by her sons-in-law Michael Kowalsky and Samir Mousa. As well she is survived by her sister Mary Lou (Mosca) Gilbert and her sisters-in-law Paula Mosca and Claudia Mosca. Dolly is also survived by several nieces and nephews who kept her company many days. Also predeceased by her brothers John, James, Salvatore, Albert and Joseph (Sonny) Mosca. Also, nieces and nephews and very dear friends.

Dolly was active in her children's school activities with St John School, Mercy High School and Xavier High School. Also active in the Elks Club and Knights of Columbus. She traveled to Europe several times and enjoyed traveling with her family in the US, Canada and Mexico. She was a member of the "Tree Club" with all her friends. Dolly was an avid UCONN men's and women's basketball fan. And a Red Sox fan, good thing they couldn't hear her commentary and suggested plays. Among her many talents, knitting, crocheting, crafting and her famous Eggplant Parm. Her final craft was angels she made for her Bunco Group Christmas Party earlier this December.

Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her friends and family that visited, brought meals, Holy Water and good conversation. We also would like to thank all the staff at Middlesex DaVita Dialysis for the 14 months of care, concern and thoughtfulness given to her. Thank you as well to Middlesex Hospice for their kindness and compassion in her final days. Thank you to Dr, Jonathan Siegel for his support whenever she needed it.

The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Thursday December 28th at 11 am at St. John Church, Middletown. Burial will follow at the State Veterans Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Wednesday December 27th from 5 to 7 at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street Middletown.
