Louis W. Gerolami, 91, of Portland, beloved husband of 72 years of Johanna M. (Siena) Gerolami, died peacefully at Middlesex Hospital.

Louis was born in Middletown, son of the late Nello L. Gerolami Sr. and Catherine V. (Beckett) Gerolami.  Prior to his retirement Louis was employed as a proto-type assembler for Standard Knapp. He was an avid fisherman, who found the streams and ponds to be so peaceful.

Besides his wife, Johanna, Louis is survived by a son, Louis Michael Gerolami and his wife Barbara of New York, a daughter, Kathleen Poryanda and her husband Scott of Killingworth, three grandchildren, Kristen Dorr, Mark Gerolami, and Paul Colaresi, seven great grandchildren, a brother, William Gerolami, and his wife Karen of East Hampton.  He was predeceased by a son, Thomas J. Gerolami, and a brother, Nello L. Gerolami, Jr.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 6th at Saint Mary Church, 51 Freestone Ave.  Portland. Friends may call at Biega Funeral Home on Sunday, May 5th from 2 to 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to Saint Mary Church, or Bears on a Journey, Waverly Center, Portland, CT.
