Lorraine Irene (Pilkonis) Schultz, 89, long time resident of Middletown, beloved wife of John Schultz, Jr., for 66 years, passed away January 20, 2023 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. A terrible loss to everyone who knew and loved her.
She was the daughter of the late Stanley and Constance (Ciss) Pilkonis. Born February 22, 1933, she was a member of the class of 1950 of New Britain High School. Laurie, to those who knew her, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She worked for Long Lane School for the Dept. of Children & Families as an Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Superintendent, State of Connecticut for 22 years. After retirement, she loved to travel and had a passion for bingo.
She is survived by her husband, John, daughters, Nancy Deegan and husband Robert, Karen Cimino and husband Michael, Donna Kirkby and husband Peter; son, William Schultz and wife Wendy; sisters, Patricia Rametta and Gail Rametta; grandchildren, Aaron Deegan, Lynsey Kirkby, Mackenzie, Keaton, and Carson Schultz; along with many nieces and nephews. She had a fond connection to in-laws, Ted and Christine Schultz and family of Arizona.

Her Funeral Liturgy will be held Thursday (Jan. 26 th ) at 11 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, Westfield St., Middletown. Burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Friends may call on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown. Those who wish may send memorial contributions to Alzheimer's Association, 225 N.
