Lindy McGill, 87, a longtime resident of Rockfall, Connecticut passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 15, 2024 following a short battle with lung cancer. He was born in Erwin, North Carolina; the son of the late John and Mary (Ward) McGill.

Lindy is predeceased by his wife, Phyllis. Following Phyllis' passing in 2022, Lindy moved to Playa Del Rey, California where he lived with his daughter Joanne and family.  He is survived by his daughters Joanne McGill and her husband James Press, Laura McGill of Kensington, and three grandchildren- Amanda Press, Ashley Press, and BeverlyAnn McGill.

After graduating from high school, Lindy enlisted in the Air Force and served as a mechanic in Alaska and Vermont. Lindy fell in love with New England and moved to Middletown with his air force buddies following completion of his service.

In 1962, Lindy and Phyllis married and in 1964 they moved to Rockfall, where they lived for almost 60 years and enjoyed their life together. Lindy was a talented electrician and held positions at various companies including Chevron and United Technologies.

Lindy was a kind and loving soul who was always willing to help others. He treasured the four seasons and enjoyed outdoor activities, especially fly fishing. He was a longtime member of the Middletown Elks Club and the Housatonic Fly Fishermen's Association.

Visitation will be held at Biega Funeral Home in Middletown on Tuesday, September 17 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and a service following the visitation at 11:30 at Biega Funeral Home. Burial will be held privately.
