Leona (Berry) Couture, 98, of Higganum, wife of the late Adrien F. Couture, died peacefully at her home Saturday, April 11, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Saco, ME, daughter of the late James and Aurelia (Smith) Berry. Leona was a devoted mother and had many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom she loved. She loved her sisters and loved to spend time with them. She loved her many nieces and nephews as well. Spending time with her family was one of her favorite things in life.

Leona loved feeding her birds, she loved digging in her gardens, and loved walking on the beach with Speed, her husband.

Leona is survived by her son, Daniel Couture and his wife Cathie of East Haddam, daughters, Nancy Height of Higganum, CT, Jane Lyons and her husband Kent of North Andover, MA, Pamela Saxton and her partner Paul Saucier of Eastford, CT, Joan Bragoni and her husband Walter of Higganum, CT, Judith Couture of Brunswick, ME, her sister Doris Clappison of Saco, ME, 16 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Adrien F Couture, her son-in-law Alan Height, her brothers James Berry and Fred Kal, sisters, Bertha Drowston, Edrina Blow, Louise Loughery, and Beverly Emerson.

A private funeral service will be held in Maine.
