Leo Denne. 93, of Covenant Living, Cromwell, CT, beloved husband of the late Pauline (Camarda) Denne, passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at The Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. He was born in Duquesne, PA, the son of the late Jacob and Henrietta (Ruhe) Denne. Leo retired from the Union Railroad in Pittsburgh, PA.

Leo is survived by his daughters, Marion Enie and her husband Mark of Higganum, CT, Margaret Wisniowski and her husband Edward of Pittsburgh, PA; son, Gerard Denne of Summerfield, FL; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was always up for a challenge and encouraged his children to take risks and try new things. Leo was a serial entrepreneur, owning a beer distributor, a construction company, and a small saltwater fishing operation in Florida.

Fishing was his passion, and the species didn't matter. Any time you drive down the road and pass a pond, you would surely hear, "Think there's any bluegills in there?" It wouldn't be long, and he'd sit in his folding chair with a pole in his hand, staring at a bobber.

Leo immensely enjoyed the last two-plus years at Covenant Living in Cromwell, where his outgoing personality could shine. He knew everyone, and everyone knew him.

Funeral services at the State Veterans' Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown, will be private. There are no calling hours. Biega Funeral Home has taken care of the arrangements.

A memorial Mass celebrating Leo's life will be held at St. John's Roman Catholic Church in Cromwell on Saturday, February 10th at 11:00 AM, followed by a luncheon reception at Covenant Living.

Those who wish may send memorial donations to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the Benevolent Care Fund Covenant Living of Cromwell, CT.
