Obituary

Kimberly Ann Kane (née Moxley), of East Haddam, Connecticut, the beloved wife of James Kane, passed away on October 13, 2026.

The daughter of the late Stella and Anthony Rogers, Kimberly grew up in Enfield, Connecticut, and graduated from Fermi High School. She later began raising a family of her own in Enfield before settling in East Haddam.

Throughout her life, Kimberly worked at Travelers, Johnson Memorial Hospital, Camelot Cruises, and the Goodspeed Opera House. She brought dedication and enthusiasm to her work and enjoyed the connections she made along the way.

Above all else, Kimberly was devoted to her family. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she found her greatest happiness in the people she loved. Generous with her time, affection, and attention, she had a way of making even the simplest moments feel special. Whether enjoying a family vacation, celebrating a holiday, or gathering around the table for a board game, Kimberly was happiest when surrounded by those she loved.

Kimberly had an adventurous spirit and loved finding reasons to get out and enjoy life. She treasured family vacations to Lake George and Vermont, trips to the beach, camping adventures, afternoons at the bowling alley, evenings playing bingo, and cheering on the Boston Red Sox.

Those who knew Kimberly will remember her generous heart and the extraordinary love she had for her children and grandchildren. She was a fiercely devoted mother who took an active interest in her sons’ lives, always eager to encourage their interests, celebrate their accomplishments, and make lasting memories. That same love extended to her grandchildren, who brought her tremendous joy.

Kimberly also held a special place in her heart for the animals who shared her life, particularly her beloved dog, Bandit, and cats, Lucky and Carlos. Her family takes comfort in thinking about her reunited with those she loved and missed, including her grandson, Teddy.

Kimberly is survived by her husband, James Kane; her sons, James Kane and his wife, Allison, and Kevin Kane and his wife, Shannon; and her cherished grandchildren, Sawyer, Eleanor, and Roman.

She is also survived by her sisters, Cynthia Harris and her husband, Todd, and Ursula Szatkowski; her sister-in-law, Kathy Kane-DiBacco; her brother-in-law, Jack Kane, and his wife, Shannon; and her nieces and nephews, Eric, Michael, Abigail, Alexandria, Gabrielle, Carter, and Colby, along with many other extended family members.

She was predeceased by her beloved grandson, Teddy.

Kimberly will be remembered for her selflessness, her sense of adventure, and the boundless love she gave her family. The memories she created, the traditions she shared, and the countless ways she made those around her feel loved will remain with them always.

In remembrance of Kimberly, her family invites those who knew and loved her to light a blueberry-scented Yankee Candle and take a moment to reflect on a favorite memory shared with her.

A funeral service will be held at St. Joseph’s Church in Chester, Connecticut, on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Kimberly’s memory to Ronald McDonald House Charities.
