Obituary

On Thursday, March 14, Kenneth ascended into eternity's embrace unexpectedly, but peacefully, in his home of 40 years.

A committed husband and father with an enormous heart, jovial spirit, and an unmistakable laugh that filled the room, Kenny was ever-humble, helpful, and tremendously hardworking. He made everyone feel welcome and was quick to bring lightness and warmth in even the most trying of times.

Kenny carried a heavy, broken heart over the last eight months after losing his beloved wife of 48 years, Katherine, to cancer. He is survived by his daughter Melanie and husband Sam Uddin of Rockfall, daughter Jillian and husband Paul Branchesi of Vernon, daughter Allison of Warren, RI, brother Charles and wife Kathleen of Killingworth, faithful rescue dog, Daisy, and cats, Louie and Simon.

Born and raised in Meriden, Kenny was the son of the late Charles and Marie (Barillaro) Montagnon, and son-in-law of Anthony and Jane (Gunn) Satagaj of Rockfall. He loved motorcycles, classic, fast cars, culinary curiosities, and especially music. He was a self-taught guitarist, harmonicist, and reveled any opportunity to play and sing songs by the Grateful Dead, the Allman Brothers Band, The Beatles, and even some original music with his friends. He was a lifelong Yankees fan, a passion his daughters also shared, and attended many games at Yankee Stadium with them. Whenever he had the chance, he spent time enjoying the outdoors and taking time for relaxation at the family's second home in New Hampshire.

"Put a candle in the window; 'Cause I feel I've got to move; Though I'm going, going; I'll be coming home soon; Long as I can see the light."  Creedence Clearwater Revival
