Our sweet, loving, cherished daughter, Katie, has left us. We try to hold our hearts together with countless memories until we are with her again. Born in October of 1982 to her parents, Peter and Patricia Liljedahl.

Katie grew up in Middlefield alongside her older sister, Erin, and younger brother, Tommy. She graduated from Coginchaug High School in 2000 and College of Charleston in 2005. After working a while she completed a master’s degree online, her love and enthusiasm for children drew her to numerous positions in early childhood education.

Along with her beautiful smile, and easygoing nature, Katie had a unique ability to connect with the students she taught. She was a valuable asset to every school lucky enough to have her on their staff. She was also a talented athlete throughout her school years, with a special passion for soccer and softball. Katie loved music, particularly The Grateful Dead. That shared passion brought her together with the love of her life, Ryan Graham, spirited Dead Heads for sure. Unfortunately, Katie fought a long and difficult struggle with Lyme Disease, with courage.

Katie was loved dearly by her family, friends, and students - her passing leaves a trail of broken hearts. She was truly special and will be deeply missed.
