Katherine "Kay" Greco passed away on Saturday February 22, 2025 at her home at the age of 90 after a long illness. She was the loving wife of the late Emilio "Mel" Greco.

Born on November 27, 1934 in Middlefield, CT, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Anna (Muzien) Szpakowski. Prior to her retirement, Kay was employed at Pratt & Whitney in Middletown as an executive secretary for 14 years. She was also employed at Durham Mfg. and International Silver Co.in Meriden for 14 years.

Kay was a devout Catholic and a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Middletown where she was a Eucharistic Minister and was very involved in helping at the parish fairs. She was a generous spirit and was loved by many. She was also the first female president for seven years of the Polish Falcons, Nest 519. She was greatly involved with the Middletown Elks, as assistant secretary and Emblem Club Officer, and many other clubs including the "K" Club in Rockfall.

Kay had a deep sense of empathy and was always quick to lend a helping hand to those in need, without being recognized. She loved doing puzzles, baking, upholstering and flower arrangements. Kay and Mel enjoyed traveling all over the world and enjoyed boating. They enjoyed their winters in Florida.

Kay was predeceased by six brothers and five sisters, and survived by a great many nieces, nephews, and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Her Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday March 4th at 11 a.m. at St Francis of Assisi Church, 10 Elm Street, Middletown. Friends and family may gather prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at the State Veterans' Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, in memory of Kay, donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church or to Catholic Charities.
