On Friday, July 14, 2023, Judith "Judy" (Bonfoey) Misenti, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother passed away unexpectedly at age 85. Judy was born on August 27, 1937, in Middletown, CT to Clarence and Florence (Hill) Bonfoey. She attended St. John's Parochial School and Middletown High School where she was the drum majorette of the school's marching band. While a sophomore at Middletown High School, Judy met the love of her life, Joseph "Joe" C. Misenti, Sr. They dated throughout high school and married on June 11, 1960, after Joe graduated from the University of Connecticut.

Joe and Judy raised three sons, James, Joseph Jr., and Jeffrey. Family was at the core of Judy's life. As a homemaker, she selflessly dedicated herself to supporting her husband and raising their three sons. Judy played an active role in her sons' lives, encouraging them to excel in academics and to participate in athletics and extracurricular activities. She was their biggest fan and supporter, regularly attending their school events. Judy embraced every opportunity to create lasting memories, whether it was celebrating milestones, sharing laughter around the dinner table, organizing family vacations, or spending time with her group of life-long friends. As a grandmother, Judy took immense pride in her role as the family's matriarch. Her ten grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she found immense joy in their accomplishments and happiness. She was their biggest cheerleader, offering unwavering support and unconditional love. In her free time, Judy enjoyed playing cards, especially Solitaire, puzzles, watching Jeopardy, reading, traveling and, in her later years, watching professional golf.

Judy is survived by her sons, James of Auburn, MA, Joseph, Jr. and his wife Leah of Jacksonville, FL, and Jeffrey and his wife Lynn of Middletown; a brother-in-law, Sebastian "Sonny" Misenti of Irving, TX; ten grandchildren, Joseph, Anna, Charlie, Alec, Luke, Jessica, Maria, Dylan, Spencer, and Declan; and nieces and nephews.   She was predeceased by her husband Joe, her parents Clarence and Florence, her brother, John "Jack" Bonfoey, and her beloved Shih Tzu dog, Josh.

The Funeral Liturgy will be held Saturday (July 22nd) at 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, Westfield St., Middletown.  The burial will be at the St. Sebastian Cemetery, Middlefield.  Friends may call at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown on Friday (July 21st) from 4 to 7 p.m.  Those who wish may send memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
