Josephine V. Schenarts, 87, of Middletown, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 27, 2023 at Middlesex Hospital. She was born on April 4, 1936 in New Haven, CT, daughter of the late Frank and Lucy (Forte) Valla. Josephine was employed as a secretary at Middletown Toyota for many years before retiring. In her free time, she enjoyed supporting her three sons who played hockey for many years traveling all over for games, tournaments and fun times. She also was an avid crafter who made beautiful pieces including knitted stockings for all members of the family that will be cherished for many, many years. She enjoyed traveling and cruising all over the world, accompanied by her closest friends and family. Leaving a lasting impact on all that knew her, she will be deeply missed and will always be kept close to our hearts.

She was a dedicated loving mother who cared deeply for her children and family. She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Chojnicki and by three sons, Rick and his wife Laurine of Colchester, David and his wife Barbara of Danby, Vermont, Scott and his wife Denise of Middletown. She was a devoted grandmother to Melissa and husband Joe, Jonathan and wife Erin, Brian and wife Amber, Michael, Nicholas, Summear, Kaitlyn, Emily and three lovely great-grandchildren. Also, she leaves many extended family, cousins and nieces.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday May 2 ^nd from 5 to 7 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St. Middletown. Her Funeral Liturgy will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, 310 Westfield St. Middletown. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
