Joseph Benjamin Kalisz, Age 88 of Middletown, formerly of Portland CT, joined God in Heaven on Thursday, July 11th, 2024

He leaves behind his adoring wife, Allene Kalisz (delaChevrotiere) of 64 years, his daughter Jennifer Salisbury (Kalisz) and her husband Mark Salisbury, grandsons Matthew Salisbury, Daniel Salisbury and his wife Madison Salisbury (Geores) and his new great grandson Arminius, and his sister Paulie Bladek ( Kalisz). Joe is predeceased by his son Christopher Kalisz and his parents Joseph and Tessie Kalisz.

Joseph was a loving and doting husband and father, Naval military veteran from 1955-1957 as a Yeoman 3rd class petty officer, career Ford car salesman helping customers at three dealerships; Longworth and Carlson in Middletown, M&E Ford in Meriden and Monaco Ford in Glastonbury before finally retiring due to Cancer challenges. He was an active member of St. Sebastian's Church in Middletown as an usher, Eucharistic Minister and member of the Knights of Columbus. He participated in many community activities as a Lion's Club and Elk's club member and Volunteer at Middlesex Hospital for many years.  He enjoyed time with his family, going out for dinners and laughs where he would always sneak away and steal the check from his family. There was never a grass blade, flower or acorn out of place at the home he and his wife built and shared for 60 years.

The family will receive friends at Biega Funeral home, 3 Silver Street Middletown CT on Tuesday July 16 from 5 pm to 7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Sebastian's Church 155 Washington St, Middletown on Wednesday July 17, at 11 am with a burial at Calvary Cemetery immediately following the service.
