Joseph Salvatore Garofalo, Sr. 84, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2024, at Apple Rehab Center of Middletown.  Joe was born on November 14, 1939, in Larchmont, NY, son of the late, Salvatore and Rose (Gioco) Garofalo.  Joe lived most of his life in Middletown.

Joe was married to his loving wife, Lucille (Jackson) Garofalo on June 3, 1961, and they made Middletown their home for 63 years.  Joe was a skilled machinist and a tool and die maker; he worked for several employers through the years but was most proud of his time with Zygo Corporation in Middlefield. He was an avid motorcyclist, who loved to explore new places with his bike.  As he aged, Joe converted his motorcycle to a trike, so he didn't have to give up his exploring.  His true passion was his family, he always looked forward to being with family.  Joe especially loved his "Adventures" with his great granddaughter, Mikaela.  They would head out finding waterfalls, lavender farms, berry picking and every playground around.  These memories were like gold.

Besides his wife, Lucille, Joe is survived by his children, Joseph Salvatore Garofalo, Jr. and his wife Faith of Meriden, Dee (Garofalo) Weber and her husband, Michel of Moodus, three grandchildren, Melissa, Michael, and Christine, and three great grandchild, Nathan, Hailey, and Mikaela.  The six of them brought him so much pride and joy.   His special companion, MeSha, will also miss him.
