Joseph Bennett III, 62, of Middletown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital.  Joe was born in Middletown, son of the late Joe and Anna Bennett, Jr.

Joe was a talented chef and worked at many local facilities. Joe referred to himself as "Thee Top Chef." Joe took great pride in his cooking. He also loved to spend time with his children, and on Holidays, you would find him chilling at his niece, Yolanda's house.

Joe is survived by two sons Juwan Bennett of Middletown, Frederick Bennett of Hartford, a daughter, Keyana Jackson of Bristol, one brother, Ellsworth Morehead (Rosanna) of Middletown, four sisters, Brenda Carr of Florida, Charlene Simmons (Kevin) of Middletown, Lisa Bennett of Cromwell, and Saundra Bennett (Melvin) of Middletown. Joe was predeceased by a sister, Yolanda Langlois. Joe leaves several nieces, nephews, and cousins to cherish his memory.

Calling hours will be held Friday, May 9th from 10 to 11:30 am, followed by the funeral service at 11:30 am at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street, Middletown.  Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Middletown.   Memorial Contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
