John Michael Street, 60, of Middletown, passed away on Friday, April 3, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He is predeceased by his parents, John Edward Street Jr. and Charlotte Brown Bisson. His stepfather, Richard Bisson DDS. His uncles Claude Brown and Walter Ray Brown; his aunts, Georgia Beason, Eileen Holt, Mary Ruth Richey, Wilma Cooper, Joyce Beam, Madge Kennemer, and Joan Butts.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, Jana (Ecklin); his loving children, Joshua and Jessica of Middletown; his sister Kelli Simmon of Glastonbury, her husband Jeffrey, their children Jack and Jenna; his mother-in-law, Virginia Foster of Middletown; and his sister-in-law Dianethia Shannon of Naugatuck and her husband Clifton. Step Siblings Jeffrey Bisson and his wife Stephanie of Jenson, FL; Jennifer Bisson and her husband Rob Bender of Seattle, WA; and Georgette Bisson-Moore and her husband Stephen Moore of St. Louis, MO. He also leaves behind an uncle James Street of Maryland, an aunt and uncle, Nancy and Carl Brown of Arkansas and nieces, nephews and a host of cousins.
Michael enjoyed fishing, tending to his vegetable garden, reading, raising chickens and spending time with his furry friends Zena and Zetti. Above all else, his greatest joy was spending time with his family, who were the center of his world. He will be remembered for his warmth, quiet strength, and the love he shared with those closest to him.
Michael was a veteran of the US Army Reserves and retired from the Department of Corrections after serving almost 13 years.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 12th from 4pm to 6pm at the Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street, Middletown, CT. The burial will be privately held.
