John Francis Poirier, Jr., 72, of Warrensburg, NY formerly of Moodus, beloved husband of Amy Armstrong, died suddenly at Hartford Hospital on Monday, May 1, 2023.

John was born in Providence, RI, son of the late, John Francis Poirier Sr. and Alice (Riendeau) Poirier. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Prior to his retirement, John was employed as a computer operator with Computer Science Corp.

Besides his wife, Amy, John is survived by three sons, Jason of Franklin, Jeffrey and his wife Karen of Manchester, Kevin and his wife Danielle of Colchester, a sister Nancy Manley of Norwich, four grandchildren, Katelynn, Emilia, Piper and Lincoln. John was predeceased by a brother, William Poirier.

A funeral liturgy will be held, Monday, May 8 ^th at 10 am at Saint Bridget Church, 75 Moodus Leesville Road, Moodus. Friends may call at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street Sunday, May 7 ^th from 2 to 4 pm. Burial with military honors will be held at Saint Bridget Cemetery.
