John J. Peplau, 72, of Middletown passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. John was employed by Pratt & Whitney for 37 years and also a member of Machinists Union, Local 700.

A man whose heart was deeply entwined with the harmonies of music, the narratives of television, the wonder of electronics, the artistry of photography, and the intellectual allure of science. John's passions illuminated not only his personal interests but also the lives of those he held dear.

John leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Dorene; children Rebecca, Stephen and Hannah; brother James and sisters Maria and Anne. He is predeceased by his parents Gustav and Mary as well as brother Victor. In addition to immediate family, John cherished bonds with Stephen and Hannah's partners Joselyn Diaz and Darrell Dow, who brought extra layers of happiness into his life.

Together, the entire family created a tapestry of unique moments that will be cherished and remembered forever. May he rest surrounded by the melodies of the music that he loved and the warmth of the family he adored.
