John A. Jackson, 78, of Middletown, died November 22, 2023. He was born in Durham on April 8, 1945, to John A. and Teresa (Herdman) Jackson. He was predeceased by his parents and brother Andrew Davis Jackson. John graduated from Durham High School and lived in Durham and Middletown all of his life.  He was a roofing and siding contractor in the area. John leaves his sister, Mary E. Thompson (husband, Timothy) of Virginia; a nephew, Sgt. (ret) John T. Thompson CSP (wife, Maria) and children of Bowling Green, Ky. and niece, Sarah C. Heitkemper, (husband, Alex) and children of University Park, and Deep Creek, Md. Burial will be private at Pine Grove Cemetery, Middletown at the discretion of the family in the Spring.
