John Gwara, 92, of Meriden, beloved husband of Flavia (Agosta) Gwara, and son of the late, Stanley P. Gwara and Bridget Galaska, passed away on October 28, 2023.

John was a veteran, serving with the U.S. Air Force.  He was employed as a teacher in Yalesville for 30 years.

John is also survived by his "Princess" daughter, Louise Lukas; three step-grandchildren. He was predeceased; brothers, Stanley, Anthony, Edward and Benjamin; sisters, Victoria Slowkowski, Angela Zawisza, Helen Ticino, and Alice Victor, stepchildren, Clifford Aldrich; Peggy Cary, and stepmother, Bernice (Galonska) Gwara.

His Funeral Liturgy will be held on Wednesday November 8th at 12 p.m. at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, 79 South Main St. Middletown. Burial with military honors will follow at the State Veterans' Cemetery. To share memories or express condolences online please visit www.biegafuneralhome.com.
