John Bryon French, age 75, passed away on September 27, 2022 from kidney disease.
He was born in New Haven Ct. son of the late John E. French and Audrey French Lundgren. The family moved to Haddam in 1949 where he attended local schools and graduated from Middletown High School in 1965.
Bryon served with the US Army from 1967 to 1969 with a year in Vietnam as a radio teletype operator in the signal corp.
Bryon's passion was art. He has shown his works at UCONN, Yale, The Atheneum and various group and one-artist shows in New York and around the country. His works comprise the core display at the Penn Plaza headquarters of the Digital Equipment Corporation in Manhattan. Friends and family have been blessed to have some of his art also.
He is survived by his son, Timothy French and his wife Kelly of Los Angeles, his sister Hollis Burr of Higganum, nephew Jason Burr and wife Lisa, and son, Noah of Higganum and nephew Jeremy Burr and his wife Meredith and daughter Addison of Killingworth.
He will be lovingly remembered as a fellow who did things with "panache".
A military service will be held at the Veterans Cemetery in Middletown on Wednesday, November 9th, 2022 at 1:00 pm.
