JoAnne (Kokoszka) Grosso, 81, of Middletown passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023 from complications associated with a recent illness.  JoAnne was born in Meriden on September 4, 1942 to the late Walter and Anne (Kabai) Kokoszka. She grew up in Meriden and Rockfall, CT and graduated from Middletown High School in 1960.

JoAnne is survived by her husband of 46 years, Anthony Grosso, her daughter Suzanne Setterberg and her grandchildren, Erik Setterberg and Marc Setterberg. She was predeceased by her brother, David Kokoszka.  She will be greatly missed by her beloved long-haired Chihuahua Roxy.

JoAnne happily retired in 1977 to take care of her family.  She enjoyed boating with family and made many good friends over the years. She loved her flowers, gardening and feeding the backyard birds favoring cardinals and hummingbirds. She was quick with a joke to bring a smile to all that she met. In her spare time, she made beautiful crafts to showcase all of her skills in sewing, embroidery, knitting, crocheting and painting ceramics which she gifted to lucky friends and family.

JoAnne will be remembered as a sweet, charming and caring friend to all. We will treasure the happy times and memories of the good food that she shared including homemade pierogies. She can now be with her many Pomeranians that she loved so much over the years. She will be forever missed.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday December 23rd at 11 a.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St. Middletown. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Middletown.
