Joan E. (Grabek) Conroy, 74, of Higganum, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 4, 2025.  She was predeceased by her husband, Michael R. Conroy, her parents, Joseph and Verdith (Nichols) Grabek and her cherished nephew, James Conroy.
Joan spent many years working as a bookkeeper at Rossi Lowenthal Lumber in Middletown and later as a medical receptionist.

She was deeply loved by the many patients she greeted with kindness and compassion.

Joan will be dearly missed by her two daughters, Joanna (Conroy) Casillo (Joseph), and Meggan Conroy (David Anderson), all of Higganum. Her greatest joys were her cherished granddaughters, Emily Bourdon and Sarah Pierce, also of Higganum, who she loved with all her heart and soul. She is also survived by her sister and best friend, Gerry Rossi of Higganum; several beloved in-laws, nieces, and nephews; and a treasured circle of lifelong friends, including her "breakfast girls," who brought her endless laughter and support.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 11AM St. Peter Church, 30 St. Peters Lane, Higganum. Calling hours will be held at 10AM at the church. Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  Arrangements are under the care of Biega Funeral Home.
