Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jerome F. McGee, age 88, of Middletown, CT.   Jerome passed away peacefully at his home, with his family by his side, on Thursday, September 12, 2024. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 61 years Suzanne Marie Larson McGee.  Born to the late Jerome V. McGee and the late Phyllis Oat McGee, Jerome lived a life filled with love, dedication, and family.

Jerome (also known as Jerry or Micky) had an outgoing and fun-loving spirit. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the shorelines of Old Saybrook, CT, Guilford, CT and Wilbur-by-Sea, Fla.  He enjoyed Golfing and was an avid Boston Red Sox & Boston Celtics fan.

He is survived by his five loving children: Daughter Jody Schultz and her husband Jeff of Middletown, CT, Son Jeffrey McGee and his wife Renee of Manahawkin, NJ, Son Jay McGee and his wife Leslie of Safety Harbor, FL, Son Jonathan McGee of Ivoryton, CT, and Daughter Jennifer Jay and her husband Bryan of Barrington, RI

Jerome is also survived by his dear sister, Nancy Bell and her husband Mike of Old Saybrook, CT, his brother Peter McGee and his wife Ruth of Bedford, NH, and his brothers-in-law, Salvatore D'Aquila, Bill Larson, loving sisters-in-law Katie Hanna and Patty Dimauro,.  And many nephews and nieces.

He was predeceased by his granddaughter Tara McGee and his sister Sally Anne M. D'Aquila.

Jerome was a proud grandfather to 17 wonderful grandchildren and a great-grandfather to 3 beautiful great-grandchildren.

The McGee family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who supported them in Jerome's later years. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished in their hearts.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday September 28th at 10 a.m. at Third Congregational Church, 94 Miner St., Middletown. Burial will follow at the Swedish Cemetery in Portland. Calling hours will be Friday Sept.  27th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St. Middletown.
