Jean (Sjovall) Keithan passed peacefully on February 29, 2024 at home at the age of 94. She was the daughter of the late Herman and Hedvig (Anderson) Sjovall. Jean was a longtime resident of Cromwell CT, born in June of 1929 in Cromwell and lived most of her life with her predeceased husband of 62 years, Peter Keithan.  She graduated from Middletown High School in 1947 and Manchester Community College 1979. She confirmed her Christian Faith in Bethany Lutheran Church in 1943. Jean loved her town of Cromwell and was a 3rd generation Cromwellite. She also loved roses especially when they were grown here in Cromwell. Jean loved traveling the beautiful USA by car as well as the CT shoreline.

Jean had six children and eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren whom she loved very much. She was predeceased by her husband, Peter Keithan and is survived by her sister, Lois (Sjovall) Carlson of Rochester MN, daughter, Patricia Keithan of Titusville FL, daughter, Kristine Keithan Sanfillippo and her children Rachel and Alex Sanfillippo of Portland OR, son, James Keithan and wife Linda Keithan of Litchfied, son, David Keithan and wife Ada Keithan and granddaughter Stephany of Manchester, daughter, Lisa Keithan, granddaughter Jessica and husband John Alcala, and three great-grandchildren Elias, Adrian, and Camila of Cromwell, additional granddaughter, Gabrielle Rodriguez of Cromwell, son, John Keithan and grandchildren Sarah, Ben and Maggie Keithan of Cromwell.

Calling hours and funeral Services will be Tuesday March 12 at Bethany Lutheran Church, 50 Court St., Cromwell from 10 to 11 a.m. with the service starting at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jean's memory to the Bethany Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
