Jean (Laczak) Genovesio, of Portland, passed away on Friday, July 7, after a long illness. Born in Middletown on August 20, 1934, Jean resided in Portland since 1957 and was a long-time communicant of St Mary's Church in Portland. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Raymond Genovesio. Born to Stanley and Josephine Laczak, she was predeceased by sisters Mary Wasicki and Carol Harmon as well as brothers John and Joseph Laczak.

Jean is survived by her son Mark Genovesio, of Portland, her daughter Lori Harris and her husband Louis of East Hampton, and her daughter Lisa O'Connor and her husband William of East Haddam, as well as her granddaughter, Julie Freel and her husband Timothy of Wethersfield and their children. She is also survived by her sisters Stacia Rugens, Sophie Lohneiss and sister-in-law, Erma Heidtmann and her husband William of Vermont, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be private. In remembrance, donations are requested for the Portland Food Bank. Burial will be held at the State Veterans Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
