Hilda Jane (Liggins) Rau Williams, 92, of Haddam, formerly of Middletown, wife of the late Charles E. Rau and Frederick Williams, passed peacefully at the Commonwealth of Haddam on Friday, November 14, 2025.

Born in Northampton, England, in 1933, she was the daughter of the late Bert and Jane (Johnson) Liggins. Hilda was a longtime member of Grace Episcopal Church in Saybrook.

She is survived by her son, Charles R. Rau of Higganum; two grandchildren, Charles R. Rau Jr. and his wife Danielle of East Hampton; and two great-grandchildren, Kayla Rau and Blake Rau, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by Ronald Liggins, two sisters, Millie Knight and Brenda Harper.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at Biega Funeral Home 3 Silver Street Middletown.  Friends may gather prior to the service from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.  To share memories or express condolences online, please visit www.biegafuneralhome.com
