It is with heavy hearts that we share the death of Henry C. Muller IV, who was born on March 5, 1953, and passed away peacefully at home on January 12, 2026.

Henry was the son of the late Henry C. Muller III and Barbara M. Muller. He graduated from East Hampton High School in 1971 and went on to attend the Auxiliary Police Academy in 1973, followed by earning his Associate's Degree from Manchester Community College in 1975.

Henry dedicated much of his life to public service. He served as an officer at Whiting Forensic Hospital, retiring after 20 years as a Sergeant. After retirement, he continued working at CVH and Cedarcrest for over a decade. Even when his time with law enforcement had ended, Henry worked security at Russell Library. Throughout his career, Henry cultivated lifelong friendships, keeping in close touch with his pals until the end.

Outside of work, Henry lived his life to the fullest. Traveling was one of his greatest joys, especially trips to the Dominican Republic and Colombia with his buddies. An Eagle Scout himself, Henry stayed deeply committed to Scouting and served as Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 44 of Haddam for nearly 20 years. Teaching, mentoring, and supporting the next generation was something he took great pride in.

Henry also loved to tinker, thrift, and stay busy. There was always a project in progress, something being fixed, repurposed, or improved. He had a knack for finding value where others didn't and enjoyed the process as much as the result.

Henry is survived by his sister, Janet Muller Benway, and his four children: Jamie-Lynn (Marcus) Nanfito, Daniel Muller, Darcy (Phil) Parmelee, and Stacy (Michael Melillo) Muller, as well as the mother of his children, Terry-Lynn (Royce) Muller. He was a proud grandfather to his "two troopers," Tucker and Elliott Parmelee.

Calling hours will be held at Biega's Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, on Friday, January 23rd, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a short service. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Henry's memory to Troop 44 of Haddam and/or Troop 2 of Portland.

The services will be casual attire. Those attending are encouraged to come as they would have seen Henry, comfortable, perhaps in a favorite island shirt or a uniform that reflects service and community.
