George Mathew Toomey (Matt) 64, entered into eternal peace at Hartford Hospital surrounded by his loving family  on July 23rd, 2022.

Matt a long time resident of Kensington, CT was born in Springfield, MA to Shirley and George Toomey on February 16, 1958. And raised in Bellingham, MA. Matt served as a army motor transport operator, before becoming a career truck driver.

Matt will be remembered by his passion for building models, his love for NASCAR, sports and his welcoming free spirit. Also, his willingness to help others around him or lend a listening ear or a "free pass"

He was survived by his loving, devoted wife of 41 years Gloria Toomey who he loved forever and a day, His children Jessica Toomey, Michael Toomey and Shawn Toomey. Brother Ricky Toomey of California. And his crazy pups Rufus and Ernie. He is predeceased by both his mother Shirley and father George. And his mans, best friends Poof, Leroy Brown and Tica. A private burial was held at the VA cemetery in Middletown, CT.
