Gary T. Bailey, 64, of Middletown, husband of the late Audrey Joan (Ellsworth) Bailey, died Wednesday May 31, 2023 at Hartford Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born in Perth Amboy, NJ, the son of the late William and Mary Bailey. Gary was a self-employed building contactor as well as operating AB Shrinkfit and Central CT Roofing Company.  He will be remembered for his love of boating and being on the water, cars, three-wheel motorcycles, and many trips to the island of Bonaire and Florida.

Gary is survived by his step son, Michael Vespa of Cromwell; grandsons, Michael D. Vespa and his wife Kelsey (Hale) of Newington, and Matthew C. Vespa of Cromwell; sister-in-law, Gladys Goodrich of Northport, FL; nieces, Michele Carrabbia and her husband Mario of Cromwell, Denise Carbonell and her husband Ken of Stanford, ME; along with extended family and too many friends to list.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday July 2nd from 4 to 7 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
