Frederick Henry Miller, 73, of East Haddam, devoted husband of Katherine (Sulinski) Miller, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at his home. He was born in Middletown, son of the late Edward Miller and Bernice (Konopka) Brandoli. Frederick was a proud member of the class of '67 at Xavier High School and went on to work for the State of Connecticut at Riverview Hospital for Children and Youth as a Unit Supervisor.
Fred's contagious smile shone the brightest when he was doing what he loved. Whether he was traveling to Hawaii and Pittsburg, NH, finding geocaches, collecting sports cards and comics, singing along to his favorite tunes at the Newport Folk Fest and in the church choir, rooting for the Yankees, or playing ice hockey, Fred always found a way to live life to the fullest. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife Katherine, son, Evan Miller and his wife Gina of NJ, daughter, Katie Veronesi and her husband Daniel of West Hartford, brother, Raymond Miller (Linda) of Middletown, two grandchildren, Benjamin and Alexander Veronesi, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends, and his loyal dog Crosby. He was predeceased by a sister Caroline Swanson, and his step-father, Albert Brandoli.
The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bridget of Kildare Church, 75 Moodus Leesville Road, Moodus. Burial will follow at St. Bridget Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St. Middletown. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may send memorial contributions to Newport Festivals Foundation, Inc. or East Haddam Food Bank.
