Francis W. Moskey, 91, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023 at Middlesex Hospital. He was husband to the late Phyllis D. (Capega) Moskey for 46 years and the late Lorraine Habib for 17 years. Frank was born in Middletown in 1932 and was raised by his parents, Joseph and Mary (Kuzaro) Moskey.

Frank's work life started at Herman's Delicatessen in Middletown while he was still in school. After that, Frank started at Gros-Ite Industries where he was a Tool & Die apprentice. Throughout his career, he made many advances in the business to find himself to be the Chief Operating Officer by the time he retired. He made many friends in the industry and stayed connected with them following retirement all the way to his final days.

The same infectious attitude he had in the business he had in his personal life. Frank always made sure that his family and close friends were a priority. He was the ultimate family man, and always thought about and took care of others before himself. He was the caring friend, husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather that anyone would love to have.

Grandpa always loved following along with his children and grandchildren's lives. He would always be at the events cheering on and supporting. Grandpa got to be a big part of his son's business with Reflections Car Wash that was built in 2005. He enjoyed spending time at Francine's cottage in Old Saybrook with her throughout the summers. Grandpa would always be there to support, and often would try to help out too much with trying to empty garbage barrels and clean bays. Grandpa would always lend a hand or be there for whatever house project or improvement a family member was making. Whether that was at his daughter Fran's house in Middlefield, his grandson Jon's house in Colchester, his grandson Jeff's house in Higganum, or his granddaughter Kellie's house in Old Saybrook.

Grandpa loved going to his grandson Brian's baseball games, and loved coming to the boat dock after a fishing trip to see all of the different fish his family caught on their multi-day adventure. He was always there to support, and created a bond with each and every person he had a place in his heart for.

The ability to create that unique bond and relationship with each different family member and close friend is what made Frank the special person he was. His grandson Dan was able to spend a lot of time with him over the last few years to help each other out in any way they could. This continued as Frank was in the hospital and Dan would be there as often as he could to extend the family's support to be a presence in his final days.

Frank's life was enhanced through his family. When Frank's second wife passed away in 2018, a new focus and light in Grandpa's life entered the world that would again create a special bond that couldn't be matched. Jeff Moskey and his wife Abbie gave birth to their first son Colton, which gave Grandpa his first great grandchild and a new nickname of "Big Grandpa." Big Grandpa's heart and passion grew even more, and was always the first one to get a new toy or pick up a few 'cheesy roll ups' from Taco Bell as it became a favorite for Colton. His heart grew even more when his second and third great grandchildren were born; Austin Moskey and Rory Coleman in 2022 and 2023.

Grandpa was able to see his son and daughter succeed with their careers and family lives, and was able to experience his 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren grow up in different stages of life. Grandpa lived the way he wanted to live, and shared his glowing personality with everybody that he touched throughout his 91 years of life.

Frank constantly spent time and was supported by his children and their families as life continued on. Whether it was going to do errands, enjoying dinners at their homes, or just spending quality time together, Frank always had family by his side.

Frank is survived by a son Frank Moskey and his wife Cindy, a daughter Francine Champagne and her husband Steve, five grandchildren; Jeff Moskey and his wife Abbie, Kellie Coleman and her husband Brian, Jon Champagne and his wife Kaleigh, Dan Champagne, and Brian Moskey with Katherine Miller. He leaves behind three great grandchildren; Colton Moskey, Austin Moskey, and Rory Coleman. He is survived by his sister Betty (Moskey) Tollefson of Portland and many nieces and nephews throughout the area. Frank was predeceased by a daughter, Phyllis Moskey, two sisters; Regina Kosiba and Genevieve Zywocinski, and three brothers; Joseph, Edward, and Theodore Moskey.

Friends may visit at Biega's Funeral Home at 3 Silver Street in Middletown from 5-7pm on Thursday, August 17th. A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday, August 18th at 10:30am at Saint Mary of Czestochowa Church in Middletown. Burial services will be held in Calvary Cemetery on Bow Lane in Middletown.
