Frances S. Percy, 98, of Middletown and East Hampton, wife of the late Durwood C. Percy, passed away on Tuesday May 30, 2023 at Waters Edge Health Care. She was born in South Windsor, daughter of Frank and Marie Matilda (Lacouline) Nolan. Frances married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Durwood, and they were married 51 years. She was once featured in LOOK Magazine as a newlywed train passenger visiting Durwood on leave.
Frances is survived by her sons, Brian Percy and his wife Deborah of East Hampton, James Percy and his wife Elizabeth of South Windsor, nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; also, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five sisters and a brother.
Frances will be greatly missed by her loving family. She was an amazing and devoted grandmother to her 9 grandchildren: Heather, Scott, Jennifer, Jason, Christopher, Michael, John-Tyler, Brendan, and Ryan. She was blessed with 13 great-grandchildren: Jordan, Austin, Samantha, Gabriel, Noah, Theodore, Alex, Noel, Joy, Ceara, Soren, Alexa and Emily.
Frances loved to paint scenic views from her favorite vacation spots in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. She displayed her art work at an Art Show in Mystic Ct. She played the piano by ear, loved all things Irish, and was an expert at Crossword and Jigsaw Puzzles. She was an avid Redsox fan and enjoyed watching Nascar racing - especially Joey Logano! Frances loved animals especially her Siamese cats.
Her family is deeply appreciative and would like to thank the Staff at Water's Edge Health Care and Constellation Health Services for the wonderful and loving care Frances received.
Her Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday June 6th at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, East Hampton. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Rocky Hill. Calling hours will be held on Monday June 5th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St. Middletown.
