Frances A. (Gowac) Parkus, 101, of Moodus, wife of the late Walter J. Parkus, Sr., died Monday December 22, 2025, at her home. She was born in East Haddam, daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Stankowski) Gowac. She was a devoted Catholic and life-long member of St. Bridget's Church.  She was a devoted homemaker and spent her life caring for her family.

Frances is survived by her daughters, Diane Clark of Belsano, PA, Nancy Smith and her husband Ed of Venice, FL, Mary Jane Malavasi and her husband Ernie of East Haddam, son, Walter J. Parkus, Jr. and his wife Chris of Moodus, 9 grandchildren, Richard Clark, Deborah Rose, Robin Hershberger, Paul Parkus, Jamie Kiely, Edward Smith IV, Eric Smith, Peter Plude, Jr. and Joseph Plude, 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Walter, her siblings John, Stanley, Joseph, Edward, Josephine Buchheit, Sophie Comeau, Stacia Shea, Catherine Paulter, Viola Kalinowski, Caroline Drenga, Henrietta Gowac and Victoria Golub, and son-in-law Roger Clark.

The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday December 30th at 11 a.m. at St. Bridget of Kildare Church of Moodus, CT. Burial will follow at St. Bridget Cemetery. Family and friends may gather prior to the service on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
