Frances T. "Fran" (Sajek) Alger, 83, of Middletown, beloved wife of the late Vincent E. Alger, died Sunday, July 23, 2023, at her home. Fran was born in Middletown, the daughter of the late John and Catherine (Annelli) Sajek. She was a long-time resident of Middletown, graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School and Ona M. Wilcox School of Nursing. For most of her career, Fran worked as a registered nurse at Rocky Hill Veteran's Hospital. Fran will be missed by her three children, Michael and Leah Alger, Kelly and Charles Stinson, and Cheryl and Kevin Goodell; her grandson, Benjamin; four sisters, Irene Sajek, Elizabeth Coristine, Dolores Szpakowski, and Maryann Hullinger, along with a brother, John P. Sajek.

Fran was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and a warm and generous friend. Very creative with a variety of hobbies, she enjoyed painting In various media, sewing, cake decorating, knitting, crocheting, and other craft projects.

Friends may call before the service at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 11 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, 310 Westfield St., Middletown.
