Felix (Phil) P. Czaja III, 83 of Meriden, CT, passed away unexpectedly at home on December 7, 2025. He was born on May 3, 1942 on the family apple orchard in Moodus, CT. He was the son of the late Felix P Czaja, Jr. and Frances A. (Seckla) Czaja. Phil graduated in 1960 from Nathan Hale-Ray High School in Moodus. He then went to serve his country in the U.S. Air Force until his honorable discharge in 1964. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 76. He served his local community as a volunteer firefighter for the East Haddam Volunteer Fire Department and as a constable for the Town of East Haddam. The majority of his working career was spent as an assembly mechanic for Pratt & Whitney. In his free time he enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing and gardening. Phil is survived by his son, Kenneth Didato and his wife Judi of Colchester, his daughter, Kimberly Didato and her wife Tiffany of Middletown, his sister, Maryann Czaja of Moodus, grandchildren, Jack and Gina Didato, niece Melissa Fox and nephew David Schweizer. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Carol (Czaja) Schweizer and her husband Henry of Moodus. Keeping with Phil's wishes, funeral services, with military honors, were held privately in Saint Bridget of Kildare Cemetery, Moodus.
