Everett William Spencer, Jr., 78, of Mystic, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was born in Higganum, son of the late Eleanor (Scovil) and Everett William Spencer, Sr.

Everett was a lifelong resident of Higganum.  He received his bachelor's degree from Post College and master's in business administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Everett retired from Northeast Utilities / Eversource and continued to stay active volunteering his time and investing his talents in many ways.  He was a State Police Auxiliary Officer, an active member and Treasurer of the Association of Retired Employees of Northeast Utilities and was a lifelong Free Mason actively involved through the end of his life.

Everett is survived by his cousins, Cheryl Creem and her husband Edward of Middletown, Louis Harris and his wife Lori of East Hampton and Madeline Fazzino of Higganum. He was predeceased by his parents, aunt Helen Spencer, uncle Raymond Spencer, Cousin Marion Harris and Cousin Raymond "Bud" Spencer of Middletown.

Thank you to the doctors, hospitalists, nurses and staff at Lawrence and Memorial and the Hartford Hospital Hospice and Palliative Care Team for taking great care of Everett, especially most recently through the end of his life. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Elena Goggin for her care, compassion and dedication to Everett over the past few years.

A graveside service will be held at 9 am on Friday, August 16th at Burr District Cemetery in Higganum.
