Evelyn (Dykas) Konefal, 98, of Middlefield, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2022.  The daughter of John and Blanche Dykas, she was born on August 6, 1924 in East Haddam.

She was raised in Middletown, graduating form Middletown High School in 1942.  Evelyn raised her family in Middlefield, dedicating her life to her family, St. Colman Church and the Middlefield community serving as town clerk for 37 years.

She was predeceased by her husband, Andrew and children, Lawrence and Christine.  Evelyn is survived by her son, Andrew and his wife Theresa, daughter-in-law, Marilyn Konefal, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, her sister-in-law, Terry Dykas and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the caregivers at the Village at South Farms and Gladeview for their compassionate care.

Her Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday (December 16) at 11 a.m. at St. Colman Church, Middlefield.  Burial will follow at Middlefield Cemetery.  Family and friends may gather prior to the service from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St. Middletown.
