Eugene D. Mandeville, Jr., 63, of Branford, husband of Kerry Lange, passed away on Thursday August 6, 2026 surrounded by his family.

He was born in Middletown, son of the late Eugene and Gail (Burgess) Mandeville, Sr. Prior to his retirement, Gene worked at Connecticut Valley Hospital as a Dietary Supervisor.

Gene met Kerry in 2010. Both were heavy with burden from hurt, sorrow and grief from their pasts. They helped one another to stand back up. Kerry and Gene spent an amazing 16 years together, the last 6 married to one another. Gene loved his Red Sox and LA Rams but he also loved working in the flower gardens that he created around their house. He was Kerry’s 1st mate and cook onboard their sailboat, cruising the waters of LI Block Island and beyond.

Gene is survived by his husband Kerry, son, Ryan Mandeville and his wife Holly of Portland, grandchildren, Jordan Mandeville, Lanayah Mandeville and Marcus Mandeville, sister, Mary Sims and her husband Daniel of Middletown, sister-in-law Nella Mandeville of Middletown, also nieces, nephews and many cousins. He is also survived by Kerry’s son Shane and his wife Kimmee and their sons Connor and Oliver, who loved him dearly. He was predeceased by his son, Paul Mandeville, wife, Robin (Cusimano) Mandeville, and brother, Michael.

The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Thursday August 13th at 11 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, 310 Westfield St. Middletown. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Calvary Cemetery.
