Obituary

Ethel Frances Demarest passed away on January 28, 2024 on the Hospice unit of Middlesex Hospital. Ethel was born on June 27, 1941 approximately 4 minutes after her twin sister, Esther.

She was the daughter of Hazel (Robinson) Randlett and Earl Randlett. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, C. Rodney Demarest. She is survived by her brother, Howard (Barbara) Randlett and twin sister, Esther Randlett; stepsons, Charlie (Nancy) Demarest and Craig Demarest, niece, Andrea (John) Piekarski, nephew, Jason (Gretchen) Randlett; grandchildren, Matthew (Joy)Demarest, Bradford (Anna) Demarest and Stephanie (John) Greenfelder, Brytani (Jared) Brown and Ryan Ford.

Ethel spent the majority of her life in Stamford, CT. She and her husband Rodney ran Demarest Associated Services with the support of friends and family. Although Ethel never had children of her own her home was a favorite place to stay (and be a bit spoiled) for many generations of children. Ethel and her twin Esther were best known for their kids-only Christmas trips to NYC that always included a horse and carriage ride. Ethel's home was well known for holiday gatherings and hours of family stories and laughter. She was a longstanding member of Turn of River church, Stamford CT. Ethel moved to Middletown (Heritage Commons) in 2019 with her twin and resided there until she passed away.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the National Federation for the Blind.  To share memories or express condolences online please visit www.biegafuneralhome.com.
