Elizabeth "Liz" (English) Cyranowicz, 72, of Middletown, wife of the late Alan Cyranowicz, died Sunday July 9, 2023 at Water's Edge Health Care.

She was born in Middletown, the daughter of the late John "Jack" and Elizabeth "Betty" (McLaughlin) English.  She graduated from Mercy High School in 1969. On April 27, 1973 she married her 'sweetheart' Al and celebrated 48 beautiful years together. Liz worked for many years for the City of Middletown, most recently in the office of Public Works. She retired in January 2022 and received a Mayoral Proclamation marking January 7, 2022 "Elizabeth Cyranowicz Day", honoring her years of service for the city. Before that she worked for many years in the public schools throughout Middletown and in customer service always trying to spread her caring and generous heart to all those she encountered.

She was an avid Red Sox fan and would cheer on "her boys" over the years alongside her husband. Anyone who knew Liz, knew she loved cooking and baking for others. She was never without a snack or a meal for someone, and if you were lucky enough, one of her legendary pies.

Liz is survived by her children, Brian Cyranowicz and his wife Beverly, Adam Cyranowicz, and Maureen Adamcik and her husband Jeffrey, all of Texas; brothers, Bernie English and his wife Janet of Haddam, Shaun English and his wife Gail of Virginia; sisters, Anne-Maria English of Higganum and Mercia English of Texas; Brother-In-Law Gary Cyranowicz and wife Blanca of Andover; six grandchildren, Alex Reel, Kaitlyn and Braydyn Cyranowicz, Jessica Ward, Kathryn Adamcik and Ashley Dyvig of Texas, also eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday (July 18th) at 6 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home 3 Silver St., Middletown. Friends may call prior to the service from 4 to 6 p.m. Burial will be held Wednesday (July 19th) at 10 a.m. at the State Veterans' Cemetery.
