Eleanor Golet, 89, of Moodus, Beloved wife of the late Charles Golet, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at her residence.
Eleanor was born on April 2, 1935, in Middletown, daughter of the late Walter and Nellie (Zawilinski) Bastura.
Eleanor worked for many years at Brownell & Co. Inc. and was a devoted member of St. Bridget of Kildare Church in Moodus, Connecticut. She enjoyed being able to watch and cheer on UCONN Basketball.
She is survived by her son, John Golet and wife Christine of Cromwell, CT; daughters, Diane Maheu and husband Jean of East Hampton, CT, and Theresa Chasser and husband Scott of Milton, FL; and sisters, Florence Jaskot of Middletown, CT, and Nellie DelEdernier of Portland, CT. She was also cherished by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Eleanor was predeceased by her brothers Stanley Bastura, brother, Steve Bastura, and Frank Bastura, and her sisters Frances Kowal and Mary Witkowski.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, February 3, 2025, at St. Bridget of Kildare Church, 75 Moodus Leesville Road, Moodus. Interment will follow at St. Bridget of Kildare Cemetery, Moodus.
