Edward "Skipper" R. Sadlowski, Sr., 96, of Middlefield, husband of Connie (Milardo) Sadlowski, died Monday February 9, 2026.
He was born in Portland, son of the late Francis and Stephanie (Tscheuski) Sadlowski. Ed was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the US Navy for four years. Prior to his retirement, he worked for Raymond Engineering in the "White Room" working with his watchmaking precision, making timers for the Patriot Missiles. He was an active parishioner at St. Colman Church in Middlefield. Ed was a man of few words – but he could chat for hours about fishing and his favorite team sports Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, and UConn Huskies.
Ed is survived by his wife, Connie married 71 years, son, Edward R. Sadlowski, Jr. (wife Janis) of ID, daughter, Barbara Gregg of Higganum, grandchildren, Jameson (Lauren), Natasha (Ryan), Dustin (Sarah), Teddy (Emily), and four great grandchildren, Charlie, Vinny, Ocean and Noah, also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Stella Baroni, Mary Dill, Frank, Joseph, John and Adolph Sadlowski.
His Funeral Liturgy will be held on Monday (Feb. 16th) at 12 p.m. at St. Colman Church, Hubbard St., Middlefield. Burial will follow at St. Sebastian Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at St. Colman Church. Those who wish may send memorial contributions to local food banks.
