Douglas Cartelli, born on August 5, 1970, in Middletown, Connecticut, passed away on Saturday June 13, 2026 surrounded by the love of the family who meant so much to him. 

Doug was the beloved husband of Jacqueline (Kieft) Cartelli. Together, they shared 34 wonderful years and were married for 27 of them, building a life rooted in love, loyalty, laughter, and family. He was a devoted father to Paris Cartelli, Dominic Cartelli, and Gregg Pellici, who were the pride and joy of his life. He also leaves behind Gregg's wife, Kathy Pellici, and their children, Vincent and Angelina Pellici. He was the cherished son of Michael and Salvatrice Cartelli and a loving brother to Kristy Marinaro and her husband, Francesco Marinaro. Doug was also a proud uncle to his two nieces, Allyse and Téa Marinaro, whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by his aunts, Jenny Vassalotti and her husband, Jimmie, and Sandra Robertson and her husband, Richard, as well as many beloved cousins.

As the owner of CSS Inc. Construction Company, Doug built more than high-rise buildings, he built lasting relationships and earned the respect of everyone who knew him. His work ethic was unmatched, and he approached every project with dedication, integrity, and pride. He believed in working hard, providing for his family, and helping others whenever he could. Doug was known for his generosity, kindness, and unwavering willingness to help anyone in need. It was often said that he would give the shirt off his back to help another person. He was a caring and giving friend to all, and his compassion touched countless lives. Those who knew Doug will remember his incredible sense of humor and his ability to make everyone feel special. He had a gift for making people feel welcome, valued, and loved. Whether you were family, a lifelong friend, or someone he had just met, Doug had a way of making you feel like part of his family.

For more than half of his life, Doug found happiness and peace spending summers on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. The lake held a special place in his heart, and it was there that he created some of his most treasured memories with his wife and children. He often spoke of his dream to retire there, surrounded by the people he loved most. Doug's legacy is one of hard work, selflessness, laughter, and unconditional love. He leaves behind a family who adored him, friends who will miss him deeply, and a community made better by his presence. Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, his memory will live on in the countless lives he touched and, in the stories, laughter, and love he shared with those around him.

He will be forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.

Visitation will be held on Thursday (June 25th) from 4 to 7 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of his family.
