Dorothy O'Rourke, 95, wife of the late Girard O'Rourke, died peacefully on January 24, 2023, surrounded by her family.  She was the daughter of Charles and Marian (Hagel) McGuinness and was born and raised in Middletown.  Prior to her retirement, she worked for 20 years as a sales associate at Mallove's Jewelers in Middletown.

Dorothy is survived by her three children: daughter Kathleen (Kevin) King, son Dennis (Barbara) O'Rourke, son Joseph (Joyce) O'Rourke, 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.  Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her 2 sisters, Marian Hutchings and Loretta Roy.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Francis Church in Middletown on Saturday, January 28th.  Liturgical readings will be given by granddaughters Kelly Spooner and Brigid Brady. Eucharistic gifts will be presented by granddaughters Siobhan Hennessy, Maura Dudley, and Erin Das.  Pallbearers will be grandsons Brian, Kevin and Brendan King, and Liam, Dan, and Tim O'Rourke.

Friends and family may call at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St.., Middletown on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:30 am, prior to the funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Francis Church.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the House of Bread at 27 Chestnut St., Hartford CT 06120.
