Dorothy (Ceder) Burr, 86, of Middletown, beloved wife of the Vernon E. Burr, Sr. died Saturday, April 22, 2023 at her home with family at her side.

Dorothy was born in Bristol, daughter of the late David Ceder, Sr. and Viola May (Pelletier) Ceder. Prior to her retirement Dorothy was an office assistant with Ames Department Stores.

Besides her husband, Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Tracy Caffery and her husband Robert of Clinton, four sons, Vernon Burr, Jr. of Meriden, Alan Hewitt-Burr and his wife Mary Jean "MJ" of Middletown, Gary Burr of Middletown, Brian Burr and his wife Loree of Middletown, a brother, Lawrence Ceder and his wife Franof North Branford, three sisters-in-laws, Sheila Ceder, of East Hampton, Bettie Ceder of Florida, Winifred Burr of Haddam, twelve grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by, a son, James Burr, two grandchildren, Luke Burr and Kyle Paluha, three brothers, Bill, Ralph and David Ceder, Jr.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 26 ^th at 7 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home 3 Silver Street, Middletown. Friends may gather prior to the service from 5 to 7 p.m. Those who wish may send memorial contributions to American Cancer Society 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Ctr. Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
