Obituary

Doris (Grandchamps) Stevens, beloved wife of the late Edward Allen Stevens of Westbrook, CT and The Villages, FL, died at the age of 83 on Sunday, July 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Doris was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, daughter of the late Lucian and Emelda (Delafontaine) Grandchamps. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a secretary for the Connecticut State Police Troop F. Doris was known for her outgoing spirit and devotion to her family.

She is survived by her son, Michael Stevens and his wife Rhonda Riggott Stevens; her daughters, Lisa Macre and her husband Tom Macre, and Lori Stevens and her partner James Ware; brother, Roger Berthiaume, and sister, Suzan Berthiaume. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Cody Hendley, Jessica Blakeman, Katie Collin, and Nicky Stevens and her great grandchildren Jaxon, Parker and Gracyn.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 20th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown. Burial will be held on Saturday July 25th at Cypress Cemetery in Westbrook at 9:30 a.m. The memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1055 Randolph Rd., Middletown.
