Dennis Murray, Sr., 84, of Middletown, beloved husband of Mary Ellen (nee Delaney) Murray, passed away on Saturday January 17, 2026.
He was born in Middletown, son of the late James and Mary (nee Sheehan) Murray, of Ireland. Dennis was an engineer working for various companies in the area as an FAA repair and quality control specialist completing a remarkable 151 aircraft repairs with only one return. He was also the former owner of Brass Rail with his wife Mary Ellen. Dennis was a member of the B.P.O. Elks #771, Knights of Columbus, lifetime member of the Irish American Home Society, he was past president of the Middletown Ancient Order of Hibernians for 25 years and was past Vice President for Connecticut State Chapters.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen; and beloved family members daughter, Christine O'Grady (David) of Middletown; son, Dennis Murray, Jr. of Middletown; sister, Eileen Mark (Lyle) of Braintree, MA; four grandchildren Lauren Murray, Aisling O'Grady and her partner Ross Buckley of Ballyboy, Birr, County Offaly, Ireland, Cormac O'Grady (Shaylyn) and Breandan O'Grady; great grandchildren, Joseph Goiangos, III, Connall and Shay O'Grady-Buckley of Ballyboy, Birr, County Offaly, Ireland, and Evelyn Fairbanks; nieces and nephews, Lisa Buggie (William), Sheryl Major (Lee), Kathy D'Amelio (Dan), Fiona Egan, John Murray (Marybeth), Richard Murray (Sherri), Sean Murray (Robin). He also leaves behind his godson Colin Frayne and his first cousin, Sister of Mercy Vernonica Neville of Clonakilty, Co. Cork, Ireland. He was predeceased by his parents, and brothers, Richard, John "Jack", and James Murray.
Dennis will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, and friend.
The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday (Jan. 24th) at 10 a.m. at St. John Church, Middletown. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.
