Obituary

Debra Lee Badrick, 68, of Middletown, CT passed away peacefully at home on June 4, 2026. She was born in Middletown, CT to Adele Hermann of Middletown. After Adele’s unfortunate passing, Debra was adopted by Frank and Amanda (Adele’s sister) Badrick of Higganum, CT. Debra is survived by fiancée Robert Nicholson, sister Lorelei Allen and brothers Lynn Badrick and David Badrick. She was predeceased by her sister Marlaine Cox.

Debra grew up in Higganum, CT, and loved being outdoors. She was active in the Brownies. She always loved to listen to music and was always singing. Her love of music led her to play the fife for the Higganum Fife and Drum Corps, and she marched in the town’s Memorial Day Parade for many years throughout high school. She loved animals, and always had a pet cat.

Debra graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. She trained as a hair stylist, and lived and worked in Middletown.

Deb was known as ‘Sunshine’ to others in her apartment complex during the many years she lived there because she always wanted to make other people smile. She was continually optimistic and upbeat, with a wonderful smile and a quirky, playful wit. She and Bob would assist anyone who they thought needed help.

She had many health issues throughout her life, resulting in a long series of hospital and rehab visits over the years. Predictably, she also became known as Sunshine to her many doctors and caregivers.

Debra will be missed by all who knew her.
