David Wayne Schumann, 68, of Meriden, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025 due to illness. He was the son of the late Dwight and Barbara Schumann.
David is survived by his brother Douglas Schumann of Middletown and sister Debbie Marino and her husband Michael of Middletown, daughter Justina Gray, son Josh Koback both from Maine, as well as his grandchildren, Genevieve and Owen.
He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. Throughout his life he has been an EMT, he worked at taking apart the Yankee Atomic Plant and painted our famous Portland Bridge. He did tree work for 20 yrs and lighting and sound for 30 yrs with his great friend/brother Chris/Stumpy. Which then would lead us to what Dave would say: "Jack of All Trades but Master of None"
He led a good life doing many things he enjoyed including his love of music. He liked singing and was an avid guitar, piano and harmonica player. He really enjoyed karaoke with his friends & Open Mike Nights. He also really loved to dabble in the kitchen making up his own concoctions from time to time.
A Celebration of Life in Honor of Dave will be held Saturday, October 11th from 2 to 6 p.m. at Rovers Lodge Cafe, 227 Baileyville Road, Middlefield. All are welcome to come maybe share a story or 2 or share a photo or 2 in honor of him. Dave's family has requested any donations to assist with funeral charges be forwarded to Biega Funeral Home or given directly at the Celebration of Life.
